OFFICIAL BIO: Cody Tapp is a native Kansas Citian who graduated from Winnetonka High School, went on to attend and graduate from UMKC with a degree in Mass Media and Journalism in 2013. After graduation, Cody began working part-time in sports radio as a Board Operator. He quickly moved up the ranks to host his own popular Saturday morning program while serving as a ﬁll-in host for morning, mid-day, and drive-time shifts on holidays. After only 18 months, Cody had become the station’s go-to evening host, regularly covering a wide breadth of professional sports, as well as hot-button news topics and entertaining pop culture stories. In addition to his sports coverage, Cody also worked as a news anchor and reporter at the local ABC News radio affiliate.
In July 2015, Cody joined Union Broadcasting and Sports Radio 810 WHB in a variety of reporting and host capacities including the “Baseball Tonight” Pre and Post Game Shows and ﬁlled in for many of the Primetime hosts when called upon. In October 2015, Cody was appointed host of his own show “What’s On Tapp” heard weekdays from 11am–12noon and “Sportscenter Kansas City” heard weekdays from 5–6pm weekdays on ESPN Kansas City. Cody regularly uses his videography and editing skills, gained while working on the documentary Resurrecting Haiti which aired March 2015, to introduce more live video coverage to the station’s listeners. Cody is also an avid fan of Twitter, and continues to expand the social media reach of Sports Radio 810 WHB and ESPN Kansas City across all platforms.
